This is day 14 of NaMoMaMo.
The enigmatic entity known as Legion is as inscrutable as it is bizarre. Nobody is sure whether Legion is a single creature with multiple bodies, or an entire race of creatures with a hive mind. In truth, it hardly matters; all that matters is that Legion is dangerous, and doesn’t seem to ever be truly destroyed. An aspect of Legion looks more-or-less human, though its eyes are wild and completely white, and it has no mouth. Despite this lack of a mouth, Legion seems to have no trouble speaking; its voice sounds like the voices of many individuals speaking in unison, even when in the presence of only one aspect of Legion. All aspects of Legion look identical (even the greater aspects), and they act in perfect harmony with each other. They seem to be able to communicate wordlessly (lending credence to the hive mind theory). Perhaps their strangest ability is the ability to merge with each other, turning two aspects into a single, stronger aspect; the greater aspects are said to also be able to spawn additional aspects. It is theorized that this is how Legion reproduces.

This is day 13 of NaMoMaMo.
Agrazzal was born to a petty noblewoman in a frontier land. He never knew who his father was, until his father spoke to him four years ago. He learned then that his father was a powerful demon prince, and that he was that prince’s heir. In order to claim his position in the Abyss, though, Agrazzal had to prove himself in the mortal world. Through study, training, and powerful magic, Agrazzal awoke his demonic nature. Through charisma and force of will he raised an army of monsters and evil people willing to follow the self-styled Demon King. He is now a despot in the frontier land in which he was born, and his only goal is to attain more power so that he can prove himself to his father.

This is the 12th entry in NaMoMaMo.
The corpse of gluttony is a foul creation, the product of necromantic experimentation on ghouls. The creature is huge, much larger than a typical ghoul, and its appetite is even more ravenous. Corpses of gluttony are known for swallowing their victims whole, and occasionally forcibly ejecting them from their gullets amid a spray of diseased stomach acid and vomit.

This is the 11th entry in NaMoMaMo.
The most sadistic of the dark ones, dark lashers wield cruelly poisoned swords and wickedly barbed whips that cause excruciating pain when they tear across a victim’s flesh. The lashers have a habit of wrapping their whips around an enemy and holding it in place, then cutting it to ribbons with their poisoned short swords.

This is the 9th entry and the 10th entry in NaMoMaMo. There won’t be a post tomorrow, largely because I’ll be at my FLGS playing D&D.
Keystone gargoyles are the product of arcane experimentation and engineering, living creations that exist solely to bolster allies and hinder enemies. They are often, but not always, used in pairs–one white and one black–, as their abilities are complementary when used together. They cannot assume stone form as often as other gargoyles as a result of their engineered (some would say perverted) origins, but when they are in stone form they are at their most effective.
Designer’s note: These two monsters came about as the result of a question I asked myself: what if I created a monster that didn’t do any direct damage to the players, but rather hindered them and bolstered allies? This led me to the idea of creating monsters that were sort of like mobile terrain; keystone gargoyles effectively create terrain advantages for the monsters, which you can place after the encounter has already started (making their auras harder to avoid).

This is the eighth monster in NaMoMaMo.
The Maiden of Mist is a cold and fickle fey creature of immense power and age, though she appears to be no older than twenty. She is known for leading people astray and causing wanderers to lose the path, and those who invoke her ire often wind up dead, at the hands of their own allies.

This is the seventh entry in NaMoMaMo.
The tomte is a diminutive fey creature that watches over a farm or household, and is usually helpful. However, they are easily offended and prone to violent retribution when they perceive an insult. They are also able to cause misfortune to befall an offender, an ability that has caused the end of many a household, farm, or even village.

Tomte’s Curse
Misfortune follows you wherever you go, and will not stop until you regain the tomte’s favor.
Stage 1: While affected by stage 1, the target suffers a -1 penalty to all attack rolls, ability checks, skill checks, saving throws, and defenses.
Stage 2: While affected by stage 2, the above penalty becomes -2 instead of -1, and whenever the target moves more than half its speed, it must make a saving throw or fall prone.
Stage 3: While affected by stage 3, the target suffers all of the effects of stage 2. In addition, whenever the target rolls a d20, it rolls twice and takes the lower result.
Check: At the end of each extended rest, the target can make an Arcana or Religion check to reduce the severity of the curse. Another character may make this check instead. However, the only way to fully remove the curse is to get a tomte to remove it, which generally requires the giving of a valuable gift or the performing of a difficult task.
Lower than Easy DC: The stage of the curse increases by 1.
Easy DC: No change.
Moderate DC: The stage of the curse decreases by 1.

This is the sixth post in NaNoMaMo.
On moon-lit nights in the Feywild, or in burial grounds touched by the Feywild, an eerie music can be heard on the wind. On nights such as this, the bones of the dead dance together, forming an osseus, swirling cloud that occasionally forms into skeletal dancers before becoming formless once more. Their dance, while disturbing, is infectious, and there are those who have fallen under its spell, only to join the dead before dawn came to dispel its effects.

This is the fifth installment of NaMoMaMo.
When a cannibal dies in the Shadowfell, a ghoul is created and infused with shadow essence. Shadowborn ghouls are silent and patient hunters, striking from the shadows and vanishing again.

[Edit: reformatted the article to coincide with the format of previous NaNoMaMo articles. I posted it from my phone originally, which didn’t allow for a lot of customization.)

This is my entry for day 3 and 4 of NaMoMaMo, as I’ll be on an airplane (without wifi) for most of tomorrow and won’t be able to post.
Uulra is a powerful psychic, capable of splintering off parts of her mind to operate semi-independently from herself. She has the ability to control the actions of others through these shards, and they act in her defense when she is unable to defend herself. She is a fearsome opponent, and not to be underestimated.
