Yeah, you're right about the once per round thing; that chainfighter took twice as much damage as he should have. Oops. I'm not so sure about the other part, though. If the chainfighter were making an area of effect attack, I'd agree with you; the paladin is part of the target area, so the mark doesn't apply. However, the specific wording of the ability is: "The shadar-kai chainfighter shifts 6 squares and makes 3 spiked chain attacks at any points during his move." It's not an area of effect, it's three separate attacks against three different people. The paladin was the target for the first attack, so the mark doesn't apply. The warlock was the target for the second attack, so the mark applies and the chainfighter takes 8 radiant damage. The cleric was the target for the third attack, so the mark applies, but since the radiant damage is only once per round, he shouldn't have taken it a second time.

At least, that's how I read it. Granted, I don't have the rules in my hot little hands yet, so I can't definitively say that I'm right here. I'll have to wait and see, but this is how I'm going to rule until then.

Observations: The paladin’s Divine Challenge is extremely effective when used against an enemy that can make multiple attacks against different people.

Only works once per round and I do not think it would work in this situation as the Paladin was also attacked with the ability.
