Thanks for the comment, and for the clarification! I'd probably draw Dirty Tricks after already having placed tokens, since one of the Dirty Tricks could influence which tokens you place. That's just me, though.

Hello! I came across your website doing a random search. I'm the Volunteer Coordinator for TableStar Games, the publisher of HeroCard Orc Wars.

I'm glad you enjoyed the game and gave it a comprehensive review.

To answer the questions under "Dislikes," you don't stack "Divine Sacrifice" cards, ie. you play one, discard a bunch of cards, and get the bonus, you don't play two and get double the benefit. In other words, the extra card is effectively wasted (or better used as a discard).

As for the Dirty Tricks, there really isn't an official ruling about it. In-house tests with employees casually took the Dirty Tricks before setting up the tokens, but the developer suggests that you take them when drawing your cards from your HeroCard deck, if only for thematic similarities (ie. cards with cards). It looks like it should be something we should add to our up-and-coming FAQ.

In either case, thanks for trying out the game. Any questions about it, you can email me at play@tablestargames.com.
