D&D Day is Approaching! | ![]() |
I’m finally going to get to take Eberron for a spin on Saturday. I’ve got four PCs ready to go (though one won’t be able to make it to the first session), and they look to be a diverse group so far. I’m allowing all sorts of supplemental rules, most notably the races and classes from Monte Cook’s Arcana Unearthed (there’s an article on this site about using the one with the other, if you’re interested). At any rate, here are the PCs thus far.
The first to be created will be played by my wife. She made herself a gnomish artificer. Looks like she’ll be the primary source of buffing magic in the group, and also the primary source of healing for one of the PCs. She’s new to role-playing, so she really doesn’t have much of a back-story built in to her character yet. I imagine something will come up during play, though.
The second character to be made was a warforged akashic, an interesting combination to say the least. We worked together on the back-story, and decided that he was originally built in Xen’drik a very long time ago, but he only remembers the last four years, since he was inert for a long time before being re-awakened. Although the akashic isn’t really designed for combat, the character’s Adamantine Body feat and high Strength and Constitution scores mean that he can actually make a pretty decent tank.
The third character is a litorian mage blade from the Talenta Planes. He was taught eldritch magic by his mentor, the shaman of his tribe, though he showed more promise as a magical warrior than a pure spellcaster. He’s honorable and good, and he enjoys using parlor magic to amuse and entertain others.
Well, that’s all the characters that have been made so far. On Saturday I’ll start running the group through The Forgotten Forge, the introductory adventure included with The Eberron Campaign Setting. From there, I have some fairly big plans. I’ll try to get a report of our first session up in a few days.
